No More Ply Tile Backer Board is a cement fibre board for overlaying timber floor prior to tiling, or fixing to stud wall partitions. It provides a far superior alternative to traditional plywood boards, and makes for a solid movement-free surface, which reduces the risk of cracked tiles.
No More Ply Tile Backer Board is BBA approved and guaranteed for up to 25 years. It is quick and easy to fix, and extremely strong – ideal for heavy tiles. Its also fits flush with any surrounding plasterboard. It is also impervious to moisture and dimensionally stable, the perfect substrate for tiling in bathrooms and kitchens. It is incombustible, which means it will not burn, with a fire rating of A1.
No More Ply Tile Backer Board has excellent heat resistance, insulative and noise-reducing properties. This makes it perfect for using under underfloor heating, and the sound proofing characteristics make it ideal for overboarding in apartments.
No More Ply Tile Backer Board is easy to handle and is impact resistant, and will fit into most small cars and vans. Also easy to cut – most cuts can be done using a ‘score and snap method using the No More Ply Scoring Knife. For awkward cuts we recommend using a jigsaw with a tungsten carbide blade. For fast, accurate and clean cuts, we recommend using the No More Ply PCD Diamond Blade in a handheld circular saw or saw bench.
No More Ply is available in 3 thicknesses – 6mm, 9mm, 12mm. It is also available in 22mm Tongue & Groove Floor Boards for direct fixing to joists.
6mm board is used for overboarding wooden or concrete floors instead of plywood, which is vulnerable to moisture. Raises levels by only 6mm, instead of using 18mm plywood. 6mm board can also be used to overboard solid walls.
9mm and 12mm boards are used for boarding vertical studs before tiling, which avoids tiling onto plasterboard which weakens when it gets damp.
We recommend using No More Ply Fixing Screws and No More Ply Megastrength Adhesive to fix the boards. We recommend 8 screws per sheet and a small amount of adhesive for maximum strength and stability.
