Description

BAL XL Floor One Tile Adhesive is a semi-rapid setting, highly polymer-modified, water/frost resistant, flexible, semi-pourable cementitious tile adhesive, ideal for fixing large format floor tiles.

BAL XL Floor One Tile Adhesive is smooth and creamy to use with high gel rheology – ribs hold their shape when troweled, while collapsing easily when tiles are vibrated or twisted. This means that back-buttering is not always required with flat backgrounds and tiles – plus the large bed depth capability of this adhesive means you can level small areas without the need for a separate leveller.

BAL XL Floor One is available only in white, 20kg bags.

BAL XL Floor One is suitable for fixing large and small format ceramics, porcelain and vitrified tiles, most natural stones, terrazzo in dry or wet interior and exterior floor environments. It is recommended for large format tiles, uneven thickness (slate) tiles/slabs, areas of total immersion in water e.g. swimming pools bases and wet room floors. It is also suitable for heated screeds and installations subject to limited movement and vibration. BAL XL Floor One can also be used as a patch repair mortar.

BAL XL Floor One Tile Adhesive is NOT suitable for: Metal, painted, tiling to existing glazed tiles and all wall substrates/backgrounds.

BAL XL Floor One Tile Adhesive is suitable for laying decoupling membranes such as BAL Rapid Mat, BAL Flexbone VAried and BAL Flexbone 2Easy, when spread with 4mm notch trowel.

BAL XL Floor One is suitable for use on the following substrates:

• Concrete; cement:sand screeds (Prime first with BAL Prime APD)
• Anhydrite/calcium sulfate and hemi-hydrate screed (Primed first with BAL Prime APD or BAL Bond SBR)
• Flooring grade asphalt
• Fibre reinforced cement boards and lightweight tile backer boards (on floors only)
• Existing vinyl tiles
• Overlaid timber floors (min thickness 15mm. Seal timber surface on the underside and edges with undiluted BAL Bond SBR)
• Existing glazed/unglazed ceramic tiles, quarry tiles, terrazzo and natural stone (only suitable for existing glazed tiles/brickwork when adhesive has been modified with BAL Admix AD1, pre-diluted 1:3 by volume with clean cold water)
• Heated screeds
• Undertile electrical heating systems

Ready for grouting after: 6 hours (at 20°C)

6mm Bed Depth: 0.125m²/kg

Open Time: 45-60 minutes at 20°C.
Pot Life: 90 minutes at 20°C.
Setting Time: 6 hours at 20°C.
Please note: Times will be extended in colder temperatures, when fixing to impervious backgrounds or when fixing tiles of low porosity.
