JACKOBOARD Sealing Tape, Corners & Pipe Collars

Description

JACKOBOARD Sealing Tape is a waterproof sealing tape made from an artificial carrier fleece coated in the centre with a grey thermoplastic elastomer. It is used for sealing intersections in JACKOBOARD PLANO Tile Backer Board such as corners, pipe connections and butt joints in wet areas such as wet rooms, bathrooms and shower areas that are regularly exposed to water. It is also used for creating waterproof perimeter joints from JACKOBOARD Pre-Formed Shower Trays to surrounding materials, such as screed and plasterboard, etc.

JACKOBOARD Sealing Tape measures 120mm in width and is available in 50 metre rolls and 10 metre rolls, internal corners and external corners. The internal and external corner pieces are designed to provide an easy, prefabricated solution for complete waterproof sealing of wall to floor corner junctions in wet areas. Also available is the JACKOBOARD Pipe Collar, for sealing around pipes that protrude through JACKOBOARD Construction Elements in wet rooms and bathroom areas. This pipe collar measures 120mm x 120mm and features a 14mm diameter hole in the centre that can stretch to fit pipe diameters up to 20mm, supplied in a pack of 2 collars.

JACKOBOARD Sealing Tape, Corners & Pipe Collars are designed to be embedded in either the JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane – a pre-mixed slurry waterproof coating, or the cement-based 2-part waterproofing slurry that is part of the JACKOBOARD 2K Waterproof Sealing Kit.

Installation Instructions:

1. Apply the prepared JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane/2-Part Slurry with a brush to clean, dry joint faces/corner junctions/pipe surrounding areas with a band slightly wider than the width of the waterproof tape (120mm) on the walls and floors.
2. Apply JACKOBOARD Sealing Tape, Corners & Pipe Collars to the applied waterproofing membrane and apply pressure to fully embed into the material (a taping knife or the flat side of a tiling trowel is a suitable implement). Always apply the corner pieces first, overlapping them with the straight tape roll.
3. Finally apply another layer of JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane/2-Part Slurry over the top of the embedded tape/corner pieces/pipe collars to fully seal the tape and leave to dry. Ensure the applied tape is fully dry before commencing tiling operations.
