wedi Mensolo L / U Boards are pre-fabricated elements made from 20mm wedi Tile Backer Board. They have many uses but are mainly used for pipe boxing and shelving.

Boxing in pipes in order to tile over them can be time consuming and can result in mis-aligned, unattractive grout joints at the corner if not done accurately. wedi Mensolo L / U Boards are pre-fabricated at the factory and provide a solution that is easy and quick to fit, and ensures a straight, square edge. As each unit is constructed from one continuous sheet, the corner joins are completely sealed, therefore require no waterproofing prior to tiling.

We recommend using wedi Board Connectors to fix wedi Mensolo L / U Boards to walls, other boards and surfaces. wedi Fixing Dowels and wedi Fixing Washers can be used to fix the boards to substrates such as studwork, wooden floors and solid walls/floors.

Each wedi Mensolo L / U Board section consists of a blue core made from extruded polystyrene rigid foam that is reinforced with glass fibre (with alkali-resistant finish) on both sides and coated with a polymer-modified cement. This core is 100% waterproof and remains fully functional even after possible damage.

wedi Mensolo L
L-shaped, 20mm thick board – available in 4 sizes: 150 x 150mm, 200 x 200mm, 300 x 300mm and 200 x 400mm. Each section is 2500mm long.

wedi Mensolo U
U-shaped, 20mm thick board – available in 2 sizes: 200 x 200mm and 300 x 150mm. Each section is 2600mm long.
