Description
Mapei Mapecolor Metallic For Epoxy Grout is a powder pigment based on very high-quality pearlescent mica, to be mixed with Mapei Kerapoxy Easy Design Epoxy Grout to create a metallic effect.
Add 3% by weight of Mapei Mapecolor Metallic to Mapei Kerapoxy Easy Design to prepare grout mortars with a metallic effect, particularly suitable for grouting metallic tiles, ceramic tiles with a metallic effect, glass and ceramic mosaic and glass tiles. Always carry out preliminary tests before grouting stone materials, polished porcelain, or in the presence of porous or rough surfaces.
Mapei Mapecolor Metallic is a powder pigment based on very high-quality pearlescent mica to create a metallic effect, supplied in pre-dosed sachets (90g per sachet, equal to 3% by weight of a 3kg drum of Kerapoxy Easy Design).
Mapei Mapecolor Metallic is available in Moonlight (similar to platinum), Sahara (similar to gold), Shining (similar to silver), Red Clay (similar to copper), Stardust (similar to dark silver). When duly mixed, it allows to obtain metallic grouts with a highly attractive finish, able to enhance the covering it is applied on with a bright, glossy and decorative result.
In order to obtain a homogeneous mix, we suggest to add Mapei Mapecolor Metallic of the desired colour to Mapei Kerapoxy Easy Design 700 (translucent). Mixing Mapei Mapecolor Metallic with Kerapoxy Easy Design of other colours may result in numerous metallic effects with different intensity and shades. It is recommended to carry out preliminary tests since the result may vary based on the colours and quantities used, however within the maximum dosage of 3% by weight so that the workability of the grout/mortar is not affected.
It is recommended not to use an amount of Mapei Mapecolor Metallic higher than that indicated so that the workability of the grout/mortar is not affected. Do not use Mapecolor Metallic in swimming pools or in continuous immersion in water. Given that Mapecolor Metallic is extremely fine and volatile, it is recommended to use and mix the product outside, in an area protected from draughts. Interior use may cause the product dispersion in the environment and its deposit on the surfaces.
Application:
Add Mapei Mapecolor Metallic, at a variable ratio depending on the aesthetic effect desired, within the limits described above (3% by weight), to the drum of Kerapoxy Easy Design mix after mixing the two components of Kerapoxy Easy Design (A+B). Create a hole in the paste obtained and pour Mapecolor Metallic in it; cover it and manually with a trowel mix to properly blend the powder pigment. Then mix with a low-speed mixer to avoid the possible product dispersion in the environment. Use the mix within 45 minutes of preparation.
Consumption:
The consumption of Mapei Mapecolor Metallic varies depending on the aesthetic effect desired. Consider approximately 3% on the envisaged amount of Kerapoxy Easy Design.
