Description

HG Tile Protector is a unique and easy to apply tile finish polymer emulsion for all types of floor tiles, flagstone and slate. After drying, this liquid emulsion forms a shiny and wafer-thin, yet extremely protective coating that protects tiles against stains, dirt, scratches and wear, while also enhancing the colour and structure. This protective film also gives an anti-slip effect.

HG Tile Protector is designated as Product 14 in the HG Products Matrix.

Application:

The base must be completely clean and free of grease and dust. For the treatments that may be required: see the HG floor tiles treating matrix on the side of the bottle.
The tile adhesive and grout on new tiled floors must be completely hardened and dry. This is usually 4-6 weeks after installation.
Existing floors must be completely dry after cleaning, which will take at least 3 days. However if underfloor heating is installed, this can be switched on and the floor will be dry after 24 hours. However the underfloor heating must be switched off at least 12 hours prior to applying HG Tile Protector.
Treat porous floors beforehand with HG Tile Impregnating Protector.
Do not shake the bottle before use and preferably apply with a wax applicator (see image on the front of the bottle). It is also possible to use a lint-free clean tea towel or similar wrapped around a squeegee. Use a paint roller with a long pile on rougher tiles.
Pour the liquid onto the floor and spread it in straight tracks in one direction. Do not turn or rub.
Once HG Tile Protector has dried (after about 40 minutes), a second layer can be applied crosswise at 90° over the first layer.
The floor can be walked on about 3 hours after the final treatment and will be completely hardened after 3 days.

Coverage:
Up to 40m² per litre per layer.

Maintenance:
For regular mopping, use HG Tile Cleaner Shine Restorer to quickly clean surfaces treated with HG Tile Protector.

For regular maintenance and restoration of the protective film, mop the floor once a month with a solution of 50ml of HG Tile Protector in 5 litres of water. In walkways where the protective film is more liable to wear, a new protective film can be quickly and easily applied over the existing layer, when necessary. In such case, first clean the floor using HG Tile Cleaner Extra Strong.

Please note: This product should be used indoors only, but not in rooms that can be wet, such as bathrooms.
