Coir Matting features short bristles that are made from natural fibres sourced from the husks of coconuts. The coconut husk is the water-resistant layer between the outer coating of the coconut and the hard shell inside. Coir Matting fibres are known for their strength and resilience as they protect the coconut from a variety of weather conditions, their waterproof properties helps to keep the coconut flesh fresh, even if it has floated for many days across the sea. So they are ideally suited for use as an entrance mat.

The Coir Matting coconut fibres scrape and wipe dirt and water from the bottom of footwear and hold onto it to prevent your floors becoming a slip hazard. The coconut fibres also feature good flame resistance (coir matting will not ignite even from dropped cigarette ends) and are anti-static. Being a natural material, coir matting is fully biodegradable,

Coir Matting is created using a needle felting technique to bind the fibres together, and then the fibres are moulded into shape and placed on a black PVC backing. This can be easily cut to size using a utility knife to fit your specific size entrance mat well or doorway.

Coir Matting has a overall pile thickness of 17mm and comes in metre wide rolls. It is sold per metre. Orders for multiple metres are supplied in a single roll.
