It comes as one unit of 6.65 kg &#8211; (3.5 kg powder + 3.15 kg additive).<\/p>\n<p>Mapei Mapeguard WP Adhesive is a two-component, cementitious binder-based mortar with fine-grained selected aggregates, special admixtures and synthetic polymers in water dispersion, blended according to a formula developed in MAPEI\u2019s own research laboratories. When the two components are mixed together, a blend with a plastic consistency is obtained. It may be applied by brush, by roller or by spraying.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recommendations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only apply the adhesive if the temperature is above +5\u00b0C.<\/li>\n<li>Do not add cement or aggregates to the adhesive.<\/li>\n<li>Protect from water for the first 24 hours after application at +23\u00b0C.<\/li>\n<li>During hot weather do not expose the product (liquid or powder) to direct sunlight before its application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preparation of the substrate:<\/strong><br \/>\nMapei Mapeguard WP Adhesive can be applied on the clean surface of Mapeguard WP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tilingsuppliesdirect.co.uk\/product\/mapei-mapeguard-wp-200-waterproofing-membrane\">200 Membrane<\/a>, Mapeguard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tilingsuppliesdirect.co.uk\/product\/mapei-mapeguard-st-sealing-tape-corners-gaskets\">Sealing Tape, Internal\/External Corners and Pipe Gaskets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation of the mortar:<\/strong><br \/>\nPour component B (liquid) into a suitable clean container. Then slowly add component A (powder) while stirring with a mechanical mixer. The mixing ratio is: comp A : comp B = 1 : 0.9. Carefully mix the blend (with a mixing ratio of comp A : comp B = 1 : 0.9) for several minutes, then remove any powder which has stuck to the sides and bottom of the container. Keep mixing until completely blended. A mechanical mixer at low speed is recommended for this operation to prevent entraining too much air into the mix. Avoid mixing the product manually.<\/p>\n<p>To make the product even more workable so that it may be applied with a roller or brush, add water at a rate of up to 5% of the weight of the latex used.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application of the mortar:<\/strong><br \/>\nMapei Mapeguard WP Adhesive can be applied by brush, roller or trowel. Once the adhesive has been applied, the overlaps of Mapeguard WP 200 Membrane layers or the Mapeguard Sealing Tape, Internal\/External Corners and Pipe Gaskets must be assembled as quickly as possible by fully embedding them in the adhesive and avoiding air pockets.<\/p>\n<p>It is recommended to press the sealing band into place by applying pressure with the smooth side of the notched trowel at an oblique angle. As an alternative, a suitable pressure roller may be used. The drying and installation time is shorter at higher temperatures and longer at lower temperatures. The ambient temperature for the installation may not be lower than +5\u00b0C until the final curing.
