wedi Sealing Tape consists of a TPE-coated polypropylene fleece that is used for sealing intersections in wedi Tile Backer Board such as corners, pipe connections and butt joints. Also used for creating waterproof joins from wedi Fundo elements to other non-wedi materials, such as screed and plasterboard, etc.
wedi Sealing Tape is available in 50 metre rolls and 10 metre rolls, internal corners and external corners. wedi Sealing Gaskets are also available for sealing around extruding pipes in wedi Tile Backer board. They come in 4 different sizes: 130mm – for 10-24mm diameter pipes, 150mm – for 35-50mm diameter pipes, 200mm – for 50-75mm diameter pipes and 250mm – for 90-125mm diameter pipes.
When sealing joints and intersections, wedi Sealing Tape must be fully bedded in wedi 520, wedi 610, wedi 620 or an epoxy-based adhesive. Firstly a contact layer should be applied using a notched trowel and then the entire sealing tape surface should be covered using a smoothing trowel. When using epoxy-based adhesives, the surface must be fully covered and finished with a quartz sand blinding.
wedi Sealing Tapes must overlap by at least 5 cm. Use the appropriate sealing product when sealing joints, pipe penetrations and intersections.
wedi Sealing Tape can be used both internally and externally.
