wedi Construct Building Board opens up any possibility in the design of curved shapes. Whether you wish to achieve tight radii or semicircular solutions, the wedi Construct building board grants you plenty of scope to develop your ideas for virtually all applications.

wedi Construct Building Board is essentially the standard wedi Tile Backer Board with deep grooves cut into it either length-wise or width-wise, which enables the boards to be curved in the corresponding direction. Once fashioned into the desired shape, the grooved side is strengthened by applying wedi self-adhesive reinforcing mesh tape and adhesive to fix the board.

This board consists of a blue core made from extruded polystyrene rigid foam. The rigid foam is reinforced with glass fibre (with alkali-resistant finish) on both sides and coated with a polymer-modified cement. This core is 100% waterproof and remains fully functional even after possible damage.

This board is primarily used as a carrying element for laying tiles, slabs and natural stone floor coverings using the thin-bed method. It can also be used as an adhesive surface for applying plaster, tile adhesive and other materials.

wedi Building Boards can be fitted on almost any surface, and is waterproof, heat-insulating, versatile, lightweight, dimensionally stable and quick to process. wedi Fixing Dowels and wedi Fixing Washers can be used to fix the boards to substrates such as studwork, wooden floors and solid walls/floors.

Use wedi Sealing Tape, Corners & Sealing Gaskets along with wedi 520 Waterproofing Membrane and wedi 610 Adhesive to seal joints between boards, internal and external corner junctions and around protruding pipes.

This board is mainly used for fabricating curved walls that are suitable for tiling onto – below is a table with details of the available diameters and circles that can be constructed from each thickness of board.
