Description

Schluter SCHIENE EV4A Stainless Steel Tile Trim is designed to provide protective and decorative edging for tile coverings. Typical applications include edge protection where tile is bordered by carpet, at expansion joints, or as a decorative edging for stairs.

Schluter SCHIENE EV4A Stainless Steel Tile Trim is available in the following internal height sizes: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12.5mm, 15mm, 20mm, 22.5mm, 25mm and 30mm. All sizes come in lengths of 2.5 metres.

Schluter SCHIENE EV4A Stainless Steel Tile Trim features a trapezoid perforated anchoring leg, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile, and an 87° sloped vertical wall section that transfers point loads to the substrate and surface covering while protecting tile edges from damage.

Schluter SCHIENE EV4A Stainless Steel Tile Trim is roll-formed from 1.4404 (V4A) stainless steel, and is suitable for applications requiring resistance against chemical exposure and high mechanical loadings. Application areas include industrial food production facilities such as breweries, dairies, industrial kitchens, and hospitals as well as residential spaces. The use of Schluter SCHIENE EV4A Stainless Steel Tile Trim is recommended if consistent exposure is expected, for example in the case of swimming pools (fresh water).

Even stainless steel is not resistant to all chemical stresses, and may be affected by hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid or certain chloride and brine concentrations. Special anticipated stresses should therefore be verified in advance. Depending on the anticipated chemical stresses, customers can choose between the alloy materials 1.4301 (standard Schluter SCHIENE E Stainless Steel Tile Trim) or 1.4404 (V4A).

Maintenance:
Schluter SCHIENE EV4A Stainless Steel Tile Trim requires no special maintenance or care. Abrasive cleaners should not be used on sensitive surfaces. Use conventional polishes to remove the oxidation layer on aluminium; however, oxidation will reoccur. Applying lacquer can repair anodised layers.

Stainless steel surfaces exposed to the environment or aggressive substances should be cleaned periodically using a mild household cleaner. Regular cleaning maintains the neat appearance of stainless steel and reduces the risk of corrosion. All cleaning agents must be free of hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid. Avoid contact with other metals such as steel, which can cause rust. This also includes tools such as trowels or steel wool, i.e. tools used to remove mortar residue. We recommend the use of the stainless steel cleaning polish Schluter CLEAN CP Tile Trim Polish.

Schluter SCHIENE Tile Trim is also available in E Stainless Steel, EB Brushed Stainless SteelM Brass, A Aluminium and AE Anodised Aluminium.
