Schluter QUADEC E Stainless Steel Tile Trim is a connection profile that offers excellent edge protection for external corners of tiled walls.
Available in the following internal height sizes: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12.5mm. All sizes come in 2.5 metre lengths.
In addition to its decorative function, Schluter QUADEC E Stainless Steel Tile Trim effectively protects the edge areas from damage caused by mechanical impact. Schluter QUADEC E Stainless Steel Tile Trim provides especially durable edge protection and can also be used at floor edges and stair nosings. In addition to this, it can be used to protect transition areas with other covering materials, such as carpet, parquet, natural stone, or epoxy resin.
Matching prefabricated corner pieces, made from either solid stainless steel or die-cast aluminium, are available for internal and external corners for simple and appealing corner connections. End caps are also available for applications where a corner piece is not desired or suitable. These come only in a brushed stainless steel finish (EB) and are designed for use with both standard Schluter QUADEC E Stainless Steel Tile Trim and Schluter QUADEC EB Brushed Stainless Steel Tile Trim.
Stainless steel connector pieces for connecting two lengths of trim together linearly are also available – The Schluter RONDEC E V Connector. This connector piece is designed for use with all Schluter QUADEC E Stainless Steel and RONDEC E Stainless Steel Trim Profiles.
Schluter QUADEC E Stainless Steel Tile Trim is made of roll formed V2A stainless steel (material no. 1.4301). Schluter QUADEC E Stainless Steel Tile Trim is highly durable and especially suited for application areas that must be resistant to chemicals and acids, such as food industry facilities, breweries, dairies, industrial kitchens and hospitals, as well as residential areas. Schluter QUADEC is also available in V4A stainless steel (material no. 1.4404) – Schluter QUADEC EV4A Stainless Steel Tile Trim. The use of V4A is recommended if consistent exposure is expected, for example in the case of swimming pools (fresh water).
Stainless steel is not resistant to all chemical stresses, and may be affected by hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid or certain chlorine and brine concentrations. Special anticipated stresses should therefore be verified in advance. Depending on the anticipated chemical stresses, customers can choose between the alloy materials 1.4301 or 1.4404.
Maintenance:
Schluter QUADEC E Stainless Steel Tile Trim requires no special maintenance or care. Abrasive cleaners should not be used on sensitive surfaces. Use conventional polishes to remove the oxidation layer on aluminium; however, oxidation will reoccur. Applying lacquer can repair anodised layers.
Stainless steel surfaces exposed to the environment or aggressive substances should be cleaned periodically using a mild household cleaner. Regular cleaning maintains the neat appearance of stainless steel and reduces the risk of corrosion. All cleaning agents must be free of hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid. Avoid contact with other metals such as steel, which can cause rust. This also includes tools such as trowels or steel wool, i.e. tools used to remove mortar residue. Schluter QUADEC Tile Trim is also available in AC Colour Coated Aluminium and the TS TRENDLINE Range of textured aluminium finishes.
