The Schluter DILEX EKSN Aluminium Movement Joint is a maintenance free movement profile for tile, natural stone and surface coatings subjected to high mechanical stresses.
Schluter DILEX EKSN is available in 8 infill colours: Cream, Dark Anthracite, Joint Grey, Grey, Black, Light Beige, Pastel Grey and Stone Grey. All colours are available in the following internal height sizes: 8mm, 10mm, 11m, 12.5mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18.5mm, 21mm, 25mm and 30mm. We currently only stock the 10mm and 12.5mm sizes in the Grey and Black colours as these are the most popular, if you require any of the other options please contact us to order.
Schluter DILEX EKSN offers secure edge protection for surfaces exposed to continuous vehicular traffic and is, therefore, suited for use in warehouses, production facilities, shopping centres and car parks, or for floor surfaces maintained with cleaning machines. The trapezoid perforated lateral attachment profiles are made from standard stainless steel 1.4301 (V2A), which makes Schluter DILEX EKSN especially suitable for applications which, in addition to high mechanical durability, require resistance to chemical stresses from sources such as acidic or alkaline media, cleaning detergents, or de-icing salt.
Schluter DILEX EKSN is also available in 1.4404 (V4A) marine grade stainless steel. The use of V4A is recommended if consistent exposure is expected, for example in the case of swimming pools (fresh water). Even stainless steel is not resistant to all chemical stresses, and may be affected by hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid or certain chloride and brine concentrations. Special anticipated stresses should therefore be verified in advance. Depending on the anticipated chemical stresses, customers can choose between Schluter DILEX EKSN made from the alloy materials 1.4301 V2A or 1.4404 V4A. The movement zone of the Schluter DILEXT EKSN Stainless Steel Movement Joint consists of a highly flexible thermoplastic rubber. This material is UV-resistant, suitable for outdoor use, and resistant to the chemical stresses typically associated with tile coverings and has been specially treated to resist fungi and bacteria. The insert is resistant to temperatures ranging from -60 °C to +100 °C. The thermoplastic elastomer can be heat bonded to extend the profile length.
