Description
The Raimondi SOS Tile Levelling System is an auxiliary tile levelling system provided with breakable clips that is designed to complete the levelling of tiles in case of breakage (in the tightening phase) of a clip of the primary levelling system, or integrate with the primary tile levelling system to refine tile levelling without removing tiles to insert additional clips. (E.g, where the tile/s are bowed, and the number of existing levelling clips are not applying enough pressure to fully level the tiles.)
The Raimondi SOS Tile Levelling System is simple to use and quick to remove. It does not damage the tiles (no scratches nor chipping). It is comprised of 3 elements: SOS clips, levelling caps, tile protection ring (the levelling cap and ring are the same as the Raimondi VITE Tile Levelling System).
The Raimondi SOS Tile Levelling clip is made from mineral fibre reinforced technopolymer – it does not damage the tiles either during insertion or removal and provides the necessary tensile strength to level tiles. The top of the clip is flat and is the same plane as the T shaped bridge part of the clip, for easy visual indication of the orientation of the part of the clip beneath the tiles. The dual component tile protection ring eliminates any risk of scratching the tile surface during the tightening phase, even the most delicate.
The Raimondi SOS Tile Levelling System clip is designed to be removed, by breaking it, once tile adhesive has hardened, which has the following advantages:
- removal is fast and easy;
- the floor is not stepped on prematurely before the tile adhesive has set;
- no tile damage (chipping);
- SOS clips can be removed simultaneously with primary levelling system clips.
The Raimondi SOS Tile Levelling System is available as a kit – which comprises 100 SOS clips, 30 caps, 30 anti-scratch protection rings and is supplied in a plastic bucket. The clips are available in a pack of 130. The levelling caps and protection rings are available to purchase separately in various pack sizes as part of the Raimondi VITE Tile Levelling System.
Usage Instructions:
- Insert SOS clips in the joint (minimum width 1.5mm), rotate them 90° and then tighten by screwing the cap: tile levelling achieved.
- The number of SOS clips to be used varies according to the type of tile (thickness, weight, size, possible curvature) and levelling requirements. It is suggested to use at least two SOS clips close together.
- Once tile adhesive has hardened, remove clips by striking them parallel to joint line and thus separating the upper portion of the clip from the part underneath the tiles.
Key requirements for use:
– Joint (distance between tiles): minimum 1.5 mm, maximum 5mm;
– Tile thickness: from 3 to 20mm;
– Minimum layer thickness of adhesive underneath the tiles: 3.5mm thickness;
