JACKOBOARD Waterproof Sealing Kit

Description

The JACKOBOARD Waterproof Sealing Kit is a kit that contains all you need to waterproof an average shower area installation of JACKOBOARD Panels and/or shower tray, such as JACKOBOARD Plano Tile Backer Board and the JACKOBOARD range of Aqua Shower Trays – Aqua/Aqua Flat, Aqua Line Easy and Aqua Line Pro.

The JACKOBOARD Waterproof Sealing Kit contains:

• 1 litre of JACKOBOARD Primer for priming timber and plasterboard surfaces.
• 1 x 10 metre roll of JACKOBOARD Sealing Tape – a mesh tape with a rubberized central section for complete waterproof sealing of joints between JACKOBOARD Panels and other joints.
• 2 pre-formed corner sealing manchets for sealing internal corner areas of the installation.
• 1 tub of JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane, sufficient to fix the sealing tape and the corners.

Also available is the JACKOBOARD Aqua Installation Kit – this includes everything needed to install a JACKOBOARD Aqua Flat Shower Tray on top of what’s already in this waterproofing kit – cement-based adhesive for fixing the tray to the substrate, waterproofing membrane, sealing tape and corners, plus the applicable JACKOBOARD Aqua drain kit for the relevant tray being installed.

Application Instructions:

1. Prime all non-tile backer surfaces to be coated (floors and walls) with a coat of JACKOBOARD Primer and allow up to 3 hours curing time. JACKOBOARD Plano Tile Backer Boards and other XPS type tile backer boards do NOT require priming.
2. Using a brush or roller apply JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane to all wall, floor and joints in a band wider than the width of the sealing tape. Apply the JACKOBOARD Sealing Tape over joint lines and corner areas while the coatings are still wet, smoothing down the tape as you go to remove air bubbles and bedding it securely in the membrane. Apply the corner pieces first, overlapping them with the straight tape lengths.
3. Apply final coat over all exposed areas of tape so the full area is of a consistent colour & even finish.
4. Leave to dry overnight or for at least eight hours before tiling (depending on site conditions). We recommend a full 24-hour cure for cold & damp site conditions.
5. Allow 24 hours for the JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane coating to dry out and re-apply a fresh coat over any voids or areas where the first application has failed to achieve sufficient coverage.
