The JACKOBOARD Preformed Tileable Wall Niche is an elegant way to create more storage space in the tiled walls in your bathroom or wet room, ideal for storing soaps, shampoos and other bathroom utensils. It is supplied fully sealed and pre-fabricated, ready for installation.
Each JACKOBOARD Preformed Tileable Wall Niche is constructed from JACKOBOARD Plano Tile Backer Board, which is a water-repellent construction board made from extruded polystyrene foam, finished on both sides with a special cement-based coating that is fibre reinforced. This cement coating is ready to be tiled, rendered or plastered once installed. It features excellent thermal insulation properties that makes it ideal for use in applications that require effective thermal insulation.

350 x 250 x 100mm (310 x 210 x 90mm Internal)

These measurements are the external dimensions of the niche. Each JACKOBOARD Niche is constructed from 20mm board to form the edge walls, with 10mm board to form the back section. Each nice is supplied individually boxed.
The JACKOBOARD Preformed Tileable Wall Niche is designed to be supported by timber studwork in the wall and fixed flush with the surrounding tile backer board. We recommend using JACKOBOARD Board Fix Adhesive to glue the abutting joints together, and using JACKOBOARD Fixing Washers with screws to secure the niche to the supporting studwork. The joints between the niche and the surrounding tile backer board substrate are to be sealed with a waterproof tanking system such as the JACKOBOARD Waterproof Sealing Kit.
