JACKOBOARD Metal Disc Plugs are for mechanically fixing JACKOBOARD Tile Backer Boards to solid substrates such as brick/masonry walls and solid concrete.
JACKOBOARD Metal Disc Plugs can be used with all JACKOBOARD Tile Backer Board sizes, from 4mm to 100mm. They are available in 4 different lengths: 50mm, 80mm, 110mm and 140mm. The 50mm and 80mm plugs come in packs of 20 – the 110mm and 140mm plugs are supplied in packs of 10.
These dowels are applied by drilling an 8mm hole through the tile backer board and into the substrate behind. Vacuum out the drilling dust and then drive the dowel through the board into the substrate with a hammer, until the top of the dowel is flush with the board surface. You should allow a minimum dowel substrate bonding depth of 35mm, e.g for a 80mm board the minimum dowel size is 140mm.
