Description
The JACKOBOARD Aqua Shower Tray is a wet room shower tray constructed from extruded polystyrene foam with a cement coating on each side, reinforced with fibreglass mesh. Ranging in thickness from 40mm to 50mm, this tray is designed for building stepless, flush to the floor wet room shower areas in solid concrete or screeded substrates, such as those designed for easy access for wheelchair users.
The JACKOBOARD Aqua Shower Tray is available in all standard formats, with incorporated, CNC-milled drainage falls and either a offset or centrally located drainage trap. Each tray is constructed from the same materials as the JACKOBOARD Plano Tile Backer Board, with a waterproof polystyrene foam core coated on both sides with a fibre-reinforced cement coating that is designed to be tiled onto directly, without the need for additional preparatory work, apart from waterproofing any joints and fixings.
The JACKOBOARD Aqua Shower Tray is designed for use with the JACKOBOARD Aqua Shower Drain Kit for connecting to drainage systems. This kit is available for purchase separately with a horizontal or vertical outlet, and comes complete with a brushed stainless steel grate plus drainage connectors. Also available is the JACKOBOARD Aqua Installation Kit – this includes everything needed to install a JACKOBOARD Aqua Shower Tray – cement-based adhesive for fixing the tray to the substrate, waterproofing membrane, sealing tape and corners, plus the standard Aqua drain kit. Optional designer gratings are also available separately if you wish to have a different style drain grating to the standard one included in the drain kit – JACKOBOARD Aqua Shower Drain Grates.
Also available is a tileable drain grate option with a tileable stainless steel shell and frame with stainless steel upstand, for tile thicknesses starting from 8mm – the JACKOBOARD Nova Tileable Shower Drain Cover.
The JACKOBOARD Aqua Shower Tray is available in the following sizes: 800 x 800 x 40mm, 900 x 900 x 40mm, 1000 x 1000 x 40mm, 1200 x 1200 x 40mm, 1500 x 1500 x 40mm, 1200 x 900 x 40mm, 1400 x 900 x 40mm, 1500 x 900 x 40mm, 1800 x 900 x 40mm, 1800 x 900 x 50mm, 2000 x 1000 x 50mm. Some sizes are available with either a offset or centrally located drainage trap.
This Shower Tray is designed primarily for use on solid floor areas, but it can be used on suspended timber floors. The JACKOBOARD Aqua Flat Shower Tray is designed for use on suspended timber floors and features a thickness of just 20mm. When using this tray on a suspended timber floor, the entire surface of the substrate must be capable of bearing loads. If required, a stable timber board which supports the entire shower base must be installed between the timber joists. Additionally, the drain itself must be seated on a firm surface. Please see diagram below. The timber substrate must be treated with a suitable primer for bonding with a cement-based flexible adhesive. The shower base must be bonded to the substrate using a cement-based flexible tile adhesive.
