Cement-based Tile Grout

Cement-based Tile Grout (or cementitious grout) is the most traditional and commonly used material for filling joints between tiles. It is primarily composed of a mixture of Portland cement, water, and sand (in some types), often enhanced with polymer modifiers to improve flexibility and water resistance.

Performance and Maintenance:
Porosity: Unlike epoxy, cement-based tile grout is inherently porous. It naturally absorbs water and liquids, which can lead to staining or the growth of mould if not properly managed.
Sealing: Because of its porosity, it is strongly recommended to apply a grout sealer once it has fully cured. This helps prevent discolouration and makes cleaning easier.
Durability: While strong enough for most residential uses, it is more prone to cracking or eroding over time compared to epoxy, especially in areas with significant structural movement.

We stock grout from the most well-known and respected brands within the tiling industry, such as Ardex, BAL, Kerakoll, Tilemaster, Mapei, Instarmac, and weber.
